Not so much fun in not so much sun but we still won.

OK, so there was no shortage of fun after all. What a difference 48 hours makes. On Tuesday, the varsity played in sun and 78 degrees. On Thursday the JV Girls took the field at home against Madison County in a cold driving mist and a chilly 48 degrees. Regardless of the roller coaster weather, the end results were steady on. The junior Titans mauled the Red Raiders 2-0 in a game that was much more one-sided that the score would indicate. North Oconee lived on Madison's half for most of the game. Titan goalie Maddie Stanfill may have gotten frostbite as a result of inactivity. Maddie cheered on her teammates non-stop in an attempt to inspire their play and perhaps to aid in staying warm. Having Stanfill in goal freed usual goalie Hollie Singleton to spend some extra time in the field. Hollie took full advantage by scoring the Titan's 2nd goal off a sweet corner kick from Anna Cobb. The first goal came when Sydney Clanton hammered a ball into the goal with the assist coming from Andie Tiemeyer. Both goals were scored in the 1st half. North Oconee continued to pass, possess, and pound the goal throughout the 2nd half but could not put the ball on frame again. This improves their record to a respectable 6 wins and 2 losses. The next opportunity for a JV victory comes Monday at home vs Monroe Area at 5:30. See you there!
