Fun in the Sun! Lady Titans edge Gladiators 1-0.

Playing on a Tuesday afternoon that provided a welcome preview of summer, the Varsity Girls managed to come away with another victory. Although North Oconee seemed to have the upper hand for much of the contest, they found the Lady Gladiators of Clarke Central to be pesky and persistent and had to dodge more that one bullet to secure the win. The Glads defended well and were aggressive to the ball all afternoon and continued to challenge our girls until the end. Despite a number of scoring opportunities, the Titans could only put the ball in the net a single time as Jessica Turpin finished off a break away with a very nicely struck shot just below the crossbar during the second half. While it was obvious that the spike in temperature was taking its toll on everyone's energy level, the Lady Titans continued to show heart and held Clarke Central in check until the final whistle. The Varsity will next take the field this Friday afternoon at 5:30pm to battle Chestatee. Let's go Titans!!!
