Lady Titans fall in hard fought battle as Oconee hangs on for 2-1 win.

Wednesday night's clash between the Lady Titans and the Lady Warriors of Oconee was an intense and tightly contested tilt on the pitch. Emotion was running high and adrenaline was flowing. Girls were flying around the field and play was very physical from the onset. After giving up a score midway through the first half, the Varsity Girls began to press Oconee with more fervor and showed no signs of wilting under the heat of the Warrior onslaught. Early in the 2nd half, North Oconee netted the equalizer on a strike by Hannah Griffin. With the momentum shifting their way, the Titans neutralized Oconee's attack for the next few minutes. Eventually, however, a deep Warrior possession that persisted near the Titan goal for much longer than it should have resulted in a 2nd Oconee goal. The Lady Titans fought back valiantly refusing to give in and striving ever harder to even the score but in the end the Lady Warriors were able to make the score stand. It was a well played match between 2 fine teams and on this occasion it went the way of the Warriors.

The Varsity will now try and put this tough loss behind them as they prepare for an important region contest against a very good Buford squad on the road Friday night. Thanks to every one who came out to support the Titans on Wednesday and we hope to see you there on Friday. Go Titans!!!
